About Us

The Story Behind EGA Associates

Jeremy founded EGA Associates officially in 2016/17. He started as a consultant in this business back in 2012 and saw the need for it. As he was gaining traction and won a couple VA contract awards, and it took off from there. As a Marine veteran and Naval Officer*, he wanted to help provide better care for other veterans that have served, by way of providing quality talent to the VA.

Early on his father was a veteran and in and out of the VA healthcare system, so he had an appreciation for it since then, and that’s what got him into this business. Overtime, he worked for a healthcare staffing firm more specifically government divisions/working with VA hospitals. He worked with other small business working with the government and mentored them through the process. He quickly realized many companies didn’t want to work with the VA because of the complicated process, and he saw a need out there, especially for the veterans needing quality care.

Working with the government is cumbersome but it’s really like a puzzle, and putting the pieces together. He saw this as an opportunity to connect the dots. He wanted to be an integrator – and didn’t plan on doing this himself – and saw other companies not willing to put the time in to do the right thing, just wanting the quick contract award. He saw the need to find the right people to solve the VAs core issues. That’s why he started this and to figure that out to keep that mission going. There is a shortage of resources out there for the VA and wanted to able to help them long-term. It’s been very rewarding.

Jeremy Mock

Founder & President

Is a talent acquisition leader with over fifteen (15) years of experience in the recruitment of medical talent and human capital management. Jeremy leads business operations and the strategic development of federal & commercial business. Jeremy is a former enlisted OIF/OEF Marine, and Navy Supply Corps Officer. He holds an MBA from Saint Joseph’s University, Master’s in Government and Commercial Contract management from Villanova University and a BSBA from Slippery Rock University.Jeremy’s diverse background with experience in Human Resources, Staff Augmentation, Acquisition & Logistics and Accounting allows him to think strategically as well as develop more risk adverse practices to enhance customer needs. He has had the pleasure of managing 30 field offices across 50 states and over 500 HCP’s on various contracts with over 140 VA hospitals, Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC’s), Correctional facilities, DoD Medical Treatment Facilities, NIH, DHS and other government agencies. Throughout his professional career, Jeremy was able to enhance healthcare by ensuring contracted clinicians, staff and other stakeholders were working collaboratively on an ongoing basis to provide the best care and patient experience to the patients through the healthcare delivery system.

Jay Peirce

Vice President

Jay Peirce is the Vice President of EGA Associates. Jay is a highly accomplished, results driven senior management executive with over 20 years of experience in sales, operations and finance within the Healthcare and IT staffing industry, as well as 8 years of corporate sales and management experience within the scientific industry.  Jay possesses a demonstrated acumen in management of business development, client relationships, as well as client and supplier retention.  Jay prides himself in creating cohesive team development that is scalable for growth while maintaining a results driven first-rate client experience.

Nanette Essick

Director Credentialing & Compliance

Nanette Essick is the Credentialing Manager for EGA Associates, specializing in credentialing processes for commercial and government contracts,  including the Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense. Nanette joined the EGA Team in November 2018, after 25+ years credentialing within varied specialties. A successful consultant for a Navy contract prior to coming onboard with EGA, Nanette has many years of experience within a multitude  of environments, whether it was onsite at the Airforce Base, Army, or even  hospitals. In addition to being the wife of an Army Veteran of 30 years, Nanette’s passion for caring for our Veterans also stems from the strong line of family history of Military Service. Nanette’s Grandfather holds the title of a disabled Veteran after serving in WWII, and developed a special bond over the years of her caring for him. He is the reason Nanette feels so strongly about the meaningful work she is able to contribute in order to ultimately better serve our Veterans.

Eileen Werve

Contracts Manager

Eileen Werve is the EGA Associates Contracts Manager. A recently retired Navy Supply Corps Captain with 27 years of logistics, financial, and contracting program management experience, she is applying her experience and energy to the EGA Team. As a veteran, she takes great pride in providing top quality professionals for the soldiers, sailors and airmen who rely on the quality medical care that they have come to expect from the VA Medical Centers and their local clinics.
Eileen is a proud graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy and completed a Masters of Science in Acquisition and Contract Management from Florida Institute of Technology. She had the pleasure of attending Executive Education programs at both Darden Business School at the University of Virginia and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Along with being selected for the Navy Acquisition Professional Corps and qualifying as DAWIA Level II for Contracting, she is a Certified Defense Financial Manager with an Acquisition Speciality (CDFM-A), as well as, a Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM).

Paula Benner

Finance

Ms. Paula Benner is Finance Manager for EGA. She has over 30 years’ experience in all areas of finance. Ms. Benner has worked for software/hardware reseller, telecommunication supplier, insurance company and women’s health care provider. Along with being an ISO certified auditor. She demonstrates strong communication skills and team leadership.

Jurgita Plummer

Audit and Special Projects

Jurgita (Gita) has more than 10 years of diverse accounting and FP&A experience. Prior to EGA Associates LLC, Ms. Plummer worked for an international company specializing in telecom services to commercial and government clients. Ms. Plummer supported commercial software group by leading financial modeling, forecasting, revenue recognition and budgeting processes and reported directly to senior management. She also supervised government segment billing processes, revenue reporting and indirect rate submissions to Defence Contract Audit Agency (DCAA). Later, Ms. Plummer transitioned to public accounting and specialized in regulatory compliance and internal audit consulting projects across the country for quasi government clients.Currently, Ms. Plummer is tasked with FP&A responsibilities at EGA Associates and supports Accounting, Tax and Compliance areas. Ms. Plummer received her Masters of Business Administration from Salisbury University (Maryland). She also received her Bachelor of Science in Economics with minor in Finance from Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania). She is a Maryland CPA license holder since 2014.

Joy Porter

Program Manager

Helping to facilitate activities throughout the company as it continues to grow. Joy Porter has more than 40 years of experience in hospital administration, specializing in all aspects of Laboratory Management. Prior to EGA Associates, Ms. Porter worked in private sector hospitals for the first part of her career managing all aspects of laboratory medicine. She is experienced in credentialing lab staff, equipment procurement, and laboratory accreditation. She transitioned to the VA and worked within this system for 20 years. Ms. Porter manages the Laboratory at the Philadelphia VA and was instrumental in coordinating laboratory services within VISN 4. During Ms. Porter’s tenure at the VA, she managed the professional standards board for Medical Technologist and quality and cost-effective initiatives with VISN 4. Ms. Porter is DLM certified from the ASCP, and obtained her MBA in Health Administration from Philadelphia University, now Jefferson University.

Laynie Barazani

Senior Recruiter

Laynie is responsible for researching, recruiting, sourcing, and screening the candidates that EGA Associates hires to fulfill the needs at multiple VA Medical Center around the county. She also supports HR with obtaining the candidate’s pre-credentialing paperwork before they start the credentialing
process. She has been in the recruitment field since 2007 specializing in placing Neurosurgeons for hospitals and private practices, placing physical, speech, and occupational therapist for skilled nursing facilities and hospitals, and recruiting and placing physicians for Pharmaceutical and Biotech companies. Laynie loves talking to people and getting to know their interests. She joined the EGA Associates team in August 2019. Laynie is originally from Omaha, NE. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and
Media Relations at the University of Arizona in 2003. She moved to the Philadelphia area in 2003 and has lived there since. She is married and has  two children.

Caitlin McCullough

Caitlin McCullough is an experienced talent acquisition specialist with high energy and passion for sourcing and recruiting top talent. She fosters EGA talent pipeline by sourcing, interviewing, and on boarding exceptional, licensed, and qualified talent in the healthcare industry.

Rohan McDaniel

Talent Acquisition Specialist

Rohan McDaniel is an ambitious and dedicated professional with over 6 years of experience. Rohan has expert level experience in delivering client service and is a natural leader. He is a hands-on problem solver with the drive and ability to quickly identify, acknowledge, and satisfy needs as well as resolve clinician and client concerns.

Joe Colavito

Talent Acquisition Specialist

Joe joins EGA from the world of military recruiting.  Joe has a strong passion for the wellbeing of his fellow servicemembers and veterans, and is excited to be in a role at EGA where he can affect the quality care they receive.  He holds a Master of Arts in Education and a Bachelor of Music from Manhattanville College.

Casey Essick

Operations Ambassador

Casey helps to facilitate and move candidates through the process of credentialing. She specializes as a systems analyst who works on special projects and provides assistance to the team when needed. Prior to EGA, Casey worked at the local trauma center for five and a half years. During this time, she was a communications specialist and ran the Security department at the hospital. She has special training and knowledge of program use that has helped her with her career and specializes in reports. Casey is currently earning her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and will be graduating in October 2022, where she will then move to earn her nursing degree. Helping people is her passion, and she is very energetic and enthusiastic in her work. She loves talking with people and especially loves helping veteran community. She comes from a Military family and takes pride in what she does. She has a young son and hopes that he realizes the impact the veteran community has on us all.

Jessica Brooks

Operations Ambassador

Jessica Brooks joined the EGA Team in 2019 as an Operations Ambassador. She has over 15 years of Operations Management experience in Leadership, staff training and development, compliance, and HR. She has also demonstrated expertise in content writing, implementations of policies and procedures, and training processes. Guiding operational efficiency, Jessica has been successful in deploying best practices across organizations for small businesses over the years. Jessica is proud to work with the EGA Team in helping to support our mission to better serve Veterans in the healthcare industry.

Bradley Duncan-Taylor

Marketing Support Specialist

Bradley is a graduate of Ursinus College where he studied Media and Communications. Prior to Ursinus College, he lived in the Caribbean where he studied business management at Jamaica College. Bradley has an entrepreneurial mindset and enjoys using his skills to create content. Bradley is an avid sports fan and enjoys watching European football and rugby. He believes in constant self- development through practicing positivity.

Jennifer Hansen

Talent Acquisition Specialist

Jennifer has 12 years of experience as a Respiratory therapist, 8 years Registered Nurse (ICU and PACU background). She traveled with both, and understands the challenges and benefits of travelers on contracts. Jennifer continues to work as an ICU nurse to maintain her skills while working to connect qualified individuals to great opportunities at EGA. Jennifer is currently living in West Tennessee with her husband, son and two dogs.

Millie Hagen, RN, BSN

Clinical Liaison

Millie is EGA’s Clinical Liaison, providing administrative operations support with our clinical, QAPI, compliance and Joint Commission initiatives.  Millie has over 25 years of successful clinical experience serving as a practicing clinician as well as a strong clinical leader.  She has extensive higher level management experience in the healthcare industry that spans across both commercial and government partnerships to include Veterans Affairs, IHSC, ICE, and Corrections (State and Federal).  Millie has over 10 years’ experience as a Joint Commission Liaison in the staffing industry with zero deficiencies throughout that time. She is results driven, as evidenced by her passion for excellence in compliance and process improvement activities as well as the professional development of those she serves. Millie is honored to serve our clients, as she knows firsthand the sacrifices made by our military men and women. Her family comes from a long line of U.S. Veteran’s to include her husband who honorably served in the United States Army.

Jose Padilla

Talent Acquisition Specialist

Jose Padilla serves as a Healthcare Talent Acquisition Specialist, focusing on Physicians. He is a 24-year Air Force and Air National Guard veteran, who brings over 19 years’ experience in federal and state government recruiting, retention, management and leadership. One of his most important roles was to serve as Georgia’s State Recruiting & Retention Superintendent, where he drove recruiting production for two Air National Guard wings & five geographically separated units, totaling over 2,400 employees. His leadership was critical to the success of the Georgia Air National Guard recruiting and retention mission, attaining 100% manning levels for the first time in over 50 years. Some of his additional military positions include Recruiting Flight Chief, Health Professions Recruiter, Military Entrance Processing Station Liaison and STEM Recruiter for Latin America & Caribbean operations. Jose’s experience with federal government recruitment includes placement of Plastic Surgeons, OB/GYN’s, Dermatologists, ER Physicians, Anesthesiologists, Pediatricians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Dentists, Pharmacists, Nurses, Clinical Psychologists, and Healthcare Administrators. Jose holds a Master of Science in Organizational Development & Leadership from the University of the Incarnate Word, a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management from Ashford University (now the University of Arizona), an Associates in Human Resources Management from the Community College of the Air Force, and an Associates in Information Systems Technology from the Community College of the Air Force. Additionally, he holds an Executive Master certificate in Project Management from Cornell University, a Professional Manager certification from the Air University, and most recently completed a Senior Professional in Human Resources certificate from Syracuse University.

Jenny Cooper

Talent Acquisition Specialist

Jenny joins the EGA Team with 20+ years of office management experience.  She uses her knowledge of patient care, chart compliance, general accounting and information organization to help make her a well-rounded asset to the Team.  She has worked with a diverse range of professionals, customers and clients.  Some of the most challenging and rewarding were her 8 years spent in the mental health field. Jenny has always had a love and respect for our United States Armed Forces and is excited to make a difference in the veteran community.  Jenny resides in West Tennessee with her husband, Kevin and their 6 children.

Angela Peterson

Human Resources Manager

Angela has over 20 years of experience working in the Healthcare Industry. Angela, is an expert in reviewing regulatory requirements and implementing policies and procedures to ensure overall corporate compliance. Early in Angela’s career,  she worked in the clinical setting as a registered Radiology Technologist. Her first hand healthcare experience has provided her with great knowledge and insight which has resulted in creating excellent experiences for all the employees.  Angela is customer service driven and committed to enhancing client relations, onboarding experiences and building long lasting relationships.
